Support The Cause is a registered 501©(3) nonprofit organization that does fundraising events and allocates 100% of the net profits to other cancer related 501©(3) organizations. STC also provides volunteers to work events for other nonprofits.

Catie Glossmann

Founder & President
In May of 2002 Catie was diagnosed with brain cancer. During her treatment she volunteered with several nonprofit organizations and went on to receive a Masters Degree in Public Administration, with a concentration in nonprofit organizations. Her objective was to start a nonprofit that financially supports the many organizations that she volunteers for. Support The Cause’s purpose is to reduce the burden of fundraising for other organizations so they can focus on serving their clients.
Debbie Hormel - Vice President

Vice President
Debbie, a licensed nurse, has been an avid volunteer for over 30 years, focusing primarily on non-profits related to cancer patients and services for the last 12 years. Having been on staff at Wigs4Kids (Director of Administration), Kids Kicking Cancer (Development Officer), and the For A Day Foundation (Chairperson Royal Oak Beaumont; Board Member). Currently acting as Director for the Michigan Cancer Resource Coalition has provided her with the opportunity to personally connect with many patients and their families
Shazia Siddiqi

Shazia is a Board Certified Art Therapist, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Adjunct Professor at Wayne State University in Detroit, and Founder/CEO of Let’s Art About It LLC - a woman owned and operated small business that has served corporations across the globe including Amazon, Google, Getty Images, Mitsubishi, Universal Music Group, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Accenture, Deloitte, GM, Lululemon, Match, Megafood, Chief, and DLA Piper. Let's Art About It designs and facilitates cutting-edge interventions for c-suite, boards, management, and all employees to address burnout, stress, resilience, change, uncertainty, disconnection, employee engagement, conflicts, strengths, purpose, and vision - fusing together AI and principles from art therapy, neuroscience, and organizational, clinical, and performance psychology. These interventions range from virtual and in-person workshops to training courses to large scale events. Through her work as a psychotherapist as well as 18+ years as a non-profit Founder and Executive Director, her goal is to help people find their own unique purpose, voice, strengths, a strong sense of belonging, and untapped potential to heal, transform, and grow. Amy Ancevski

With a vast background in the fashion and entertainment industry, Amy is a great host for any event. She has worked in the fashion and entertainment industry for over 10 years gaining a unique perspective while networking extensively. Amy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University in Fashion Design and Merchandising.
Tobias Glossmann

Technical Manager
Dr. Tobias Glossmann is a Principal Engineer at Mercedes-Benz R&D North America where he works on battery research to discover and enable future battery technologies. He leverages his expertise not only to advance electrochemical energy storage but also electrochemical detection, remediation, and conversion. He speaks at many conferences and is actively engaged in community education as the Vice Chair of the Detroit section of the Electrochemical Society where he organizes regular events. Tobias also volunteers at Support The Cause, working on technical issues such as the web site and supporting various events.
